Set of five vintage Tulip chairs designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International. Created in 1956, the base is cast aluminum covered with white rilsan, swivel shell in fiberglass upholstered in orange wool fabric. Museum of Modern Art Award, 1969 Federal Award for Industrial Design, 1969 Design Center Stuttgart Award, 1962 Saarinen was awarded a patent for the Tulip chair in 1960.

Condition

The chairs are in good condition for their age and have the usual fair wear and tear to be expected of pieces of this vintage. Some slight fading is noticeable when cushions are removed. Two of the bases have small chips and there is the odd scuff mark. All chairs swivel as designed and all zips on the cushions are original and in tact. Recently professionally cleaned. A small chip on the back of one of the chairs as photographed.
