This 1401 armchair was designed by Dutch designer Wim Rietveld for Gispen during the 1950s. With a straight back it sits on a graphite black painted steel frame.
The back and seat are both made from steel, which has been lacquered, and equipped with a removable cover with foam rubber. Original Red wool upholstery
The seat has two armrests in bakelite.
This chair was first shown at the 10th Milan Triennale (1954) and was awarded with a gold medal.

marks on the fronts. Otherwise in good condition. There are some marks and scratches on the backs and arms of the chairs, visible in the photos.
