Pair of Iconic Postmodern Ribbon Chairs by Canadian furniture maker Jaymar, circa 1990.

Known for its quality upholstered furniture and bold contemporary design, Jaymar has been manufacturing in Canada since 1956. These sculptural Ribbon Chairs are a standout example of the brand’s postmodern period, with their dramatic continuous curved form, generous proportions and strong steel frame. 

Upholstered in vibrant ruby red microsuede, the chairs are incredibly comfortable with generous cushioning and a supportive, substantial construction. Their sculptural silhouette makes them as much a statement piece as a functional lounge chair.

A particularly special find as a matching pair and increasingly difficult to come by in this condition.

Condition

Red microsuede is in excellent condition with only a few minor holes to one chair and a small rust mark the underside of the base as photographed.
