Vintage Ikea Karlskrona Wicker Chaise Lounge by Carl Öjerstam

An iconic piece of 1990s IKEA design, the Karlskrona Chaise Lounge was designed by Swedish designer Carl Öjerstam and has become an increasingly collectible example of IKEA’s more experimental vintage designs.

Sculptural and beautifully relaxed, the Karlskrona features a sweeping, ergonomic form crafted from woven wicker and rattan over a structured frame. Its exaggerated curved silhouette creates an almost architectural profile, while the natural woven finish brings warmth and texture.

Designed to support the body in a reclined position, it sits somewhere between a lounge chair and chaise — a statement piece that feels equally at home in a contemporary interior, coastal setting or layered amongst vintage and collected pieces.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. Structurally sound with no major damage. Some light, age-related wear and natural variation/patina to the cane/rattan throughout, including minor surface marks and slight wear to some woven sections, consistent with age and use.
