Vintage Brutalist Solid Timber Dining Setting with Four Chairs

A striking vintage Brutalist dining setting comprising a sculptural solid timber dining table and four matching high-back chairs.

Full of character, the table is defined by its substantial rectangular top, beautifully figured timber and architectural trestle base. Curved, cut-out supports and exposed timber joinery give the piece its distinctive handcrafted quality, while the natural knots, grain and irregularities remain very much part of the design.

The four accompanying chairs continue the same expressive language. Each features an individually shaped solid timber back with organic edges, splayed legs and a generously upholstered circular seat. The original patterned upholstery, rendered in earthy rust, ochre and terracotta tones, adds an unexpected graphic element against the warmth of the timber.

There is something wonderfully unconventional about this set — part Brutalist, part folk, and almost sculptural in its construction. Rather than feeling overly polished or uniform, the irregular forms, visible grain and patina give it the presence of a one-off studio-made piece.
