Incredible Dark Green Velvet Anfibio (amphibian) Sofa.

Designed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti, Italy, 1971. An icon of modern Italian design.

This collectors item has an inner structure of steel with padding of foam and has been recently upholstered in new deep green luxe velvet. It can quickly convert into a soft double bed mattress. Easily transforms by releasing side straps and folding down of seat and back. Perfect for movie nights or guests. 

This inspiration for this design is evidently based on a liferaft.

Condition

Recently reupholstered and medium density comfortable cushioning is in excellent condition.

There is an internal metal rod structure present (believed to be used to weigh down the mattress when unfolded), these are often professionally removed if desired. There is a couple of studs on the straps that could also do with repair if desired, but it does not effect overall function or look. Please refer to pictures. Priced accordingly.
