Vintage parquetry bamboo side table

A beautifully detailed vintage bamboo and rattan coffee or side table, defined by its richly textured basketweave top and sculptural geometric base.

The circular top is constructed from alternating sections of bamboo, arranged in a parquet-style pattern that creates a striking sense of movement and texture. Below, an intricate framework of bent rattan forms repeating diamonds, curves and intersecting lines, giving the table an architectural quality from every angle.

The warm, aged finish and natural variations throughout the bamboo give the piece wonderful depth and patina. Equal parts decorative and functional, it has the relaxed glamour associated with 1970s rattan furniture while feeling particularly relevant in a contemporary interior.

A statement piece for an eclectic living room, breakfast nook or conservatory-style space, equally at home amongst contemporary pieces as it is in a layered vintage home
