A truly exceptional organic teak root sculpture, sourced from DAO Home (Design Around Objects), Los Angeles, for a private residence designed by renowned interior designer Thomas Hamel.

This one-of-a-kind sculptural piece celebrates the natural beauty and movement of solid teak root, with flowing, organic lines that make a striking statement in both contemporary and timeless interiors. Originally displayed in a large bay window, it has been lovingly cared for and remains in excellent condition.

Presented on its custom-made black plinth, designed specifically for the sculpture, it is ready to display immediately. According to DAO Home, this is the only example they have ever sourced from this particular root species, making it an exceptionally rare decorative artwork. 

An added benefit is its versatility—the sculpture is also suitable for outdoor installation. DAO Home confirmed that the timber fibres naturally withstand the elements. Over time the timber will weather to a lighter tone outdoors, although a water-based sealant can be applied to minimise fading if desired.
